Artist Statement

Trees are a delight. We appreciate their outer beauty — the textures in their trunks and lovely patterns in their branches. They portray a dramatic countenance when they present in a stand together.

Materials & Techniques

Silk shibori dyed, adhered to acrylic glass, and positioned underneath laser cut tree silhouettes in black mat board that shows the dyed silk.  The quadriptych is mounted in front of LED lights to let the dyed silk to shine through.
